The first 3 months of 2008 have gone very quickly.
We have been very busy with taking in 28 chinchillas so far this year, along with a waiting list of approx 15 more chins waiting to come in. Thankfully, 21 have been rehomed, but many more are waiting for that very special ‘forever’ home.
Sadly, two rescues have gone over the rainbow bridge, we also said goodbye to our own Bobbie, who is greatly missed.
We still have a number of chins being monitored on a daily basis, a female is to undergo an operation to have one of her eyes removed due to glaucoma and a lovely male will shortly be having an operation on his ear, but needs to gain weight first. Another female who has already had two operations to have lumps removed is being monitored as another tiny lump has appeared.
Sable, a blind female was found suffering from a prolapsed womb, she was rushed to the vets for immediate surgery when it was discovered she had a tumour in her uterus. She is making very good progress but will be closely monitored.
Earlier in the year, we took in a delightful 19 year old called Chong who is progressing very well despite her age! This ‘young’ lady is full of character!
Time permitting, we hope to update shortly. We are in the process of working on a better website (thanks Michelle) and hope to be online very soon.
